Ground Levy Message

GENERAL RULES AND REGULATIONS

  1. BAS and BRC reserve the right to restrict the number of horses who require stables to the first 110 entries received
  2. We regret that no horse may enter the show without an up to date horse flu vaccination and AHS vaccination (Batch and date details MUST be entered on the entry form provided.). This is in accordance with SAEF Rule Appendix VR/9.7.1: Horses MUST be inoculated by a VETERINARIAN within a period of 12 months of the date of the previous inoculation for AHS and 6 months from the date of the previous flu vaccination - otherwise the inoculation will be deemed to have expired.1
  3. Passports, which include a valid height certificate (for graded showing classes) must be available upon request and will be randomly checked during the course of the show. Horses without correct vaccinations will be required to vacate the premises immediately.1
  4. NO DOGS WILL BE PERMITTED IN THE BAS SHOWGROUNDS UNLESS THEY ARE ON A LEASH AT ALL TIMES. Animal owners found in contradiction will be fined R150 per unsecured animal.
  5. It is mandatory for ALL riders to wear protective headgear on the show grounds. Children and juniors to wear correct restraining harness on hat as stated in rule 12.2.2.
  6. NO cheques will be accepted.
  7. NO refunds will be made in respect of cancellations and scratchings after the closing date of entries.
  8. It is the competitor’s responsibility to check whether their entries have been received.
  9. The final programme will be posted by email two days before commencement of the show.
  10. Please note that only the starting time is exact for the day, all other events will run on.
  11. The Organizing Committee reserves the right to combine, vary, divide or cancel classes if insufficient entries are received. Should the status of a show change due to unforeseen circumstances, entries will not be refunded.
  12. Insofar as possible the programme and conditions relating thereto will be adhered to. However, the Organizing Committee reserves the right to make alterations in the event of unfavourable weather conditions or any other unforeseen circumstances. Should the show be cancelled or postponed for any reason only entry fees will be refunded.
  13. SAEF, SASJ, SASA, CBBS, BRC, BAS, the organizers and any officials appointed by these shall in no way be held responsible for any damage, loss, injury sustained by owners, competitors, members of the public or any other person or persons or their property at the show grounds for the duration of the show.
  14. By entering a stallion at BRC, the competitor & owner agree to the following conditions & agree to abide by the following protocol:
    1. Competition stallions remain the responsibility of the owner & rider at all times & they are expected to have public liability against any loss, injury or damage that might be caused by the stallion.
    2. It is the responsibility of the owner & rider to ensure that the stallion cannot exit the stable allocated to it on its own/or with the help of another horse or uninformed person.
    3. The stallion may only be removed from the stable during the show for exercise & preparation/competition & only in the presence of a responsible handler or rider.
    4. All stallions must wear a yellow tag on their bridles at all times.
  15. Under NO circumstances is the covering of mares to be allowed to take place at the show grounds.
  16. By entering a horse that kicks at the BRC, the competitor & owner agree to the following conditions & agree to abide by the following protocol:
    1. The pony/horse must wear a red ribbon in its tail at all times.
    2. The pony/horse remains the responsibility of the owner & rider at all times & they are expected to have public liability against any loss, injury or damage that might be caused by the pony/horse.
  17. Jumping Rules: A2 Speed FEI Art 238.2.1, Bathurst Stakes FEI Art 238.2.2, Bathurst Championship FEI Art 238.2.2., Competition in 2 phases FEI ART 274.1.5.1
  18. SASA Showing Rules (for graded open classes): All classes will be run under SASA showing rules edition 19 (effective 01 January 2019). All competitors have to be registered with a recognized club, SAEF and SASA, or must pay a temporary membership of R80 with their entry fees. Temporary members will not earn Grading or Victor Ludorum Points. Membership forms may be obtained on the SASA website www.showingsa.co.za or from admin@showingsa.co.za. SASA will pay entry fees for SASA EDTS competitors in all classes. The competitor must be an EDTS member of SASA. Membership is free. EDTS application forms, rules and conditions are available at www.showingsa.co.za or from admin@showingsa.co.za. EDTS members will earn EDTS Victor Ludorum points. Registered SASA coaches will earn National Coaches Victor Ludorum points.
  19. The BRC reserves the right to implement any rules/regulations it deems necessary or on the advice of a veterinarian (State or private) to control the spread of any disease. ALL competitors will be obliged to adhere to such rules/regulations at all times.
  20. Junior and adult classes may be combined if entries are insufficient to hold the classes individually. Please be sure to check times once the FINAL program is out.
  21. The program appearing in this schedule is STRICTLY PROVISIONAL.
  22. All competitors, grooms and support members are to wear an armband at all times as the BAS can and will remove all those not legally on the grounds.
  23. Please see the various discipline association rules on a dispute resolution and lodging a complaint.
  24. No camping outside of the allotted areas will be allowed, and no fires within 100m of the stables!
