The organising committee in consultation with the SASJ Representative reserve the right to combine, handicap, divide or cancel classes should this be necessary, always provided such amendments are not in conflict with the rules. Where necessary, classes may be restricted to qualifications. 80% of entry fees will be refunded should the class/s be cancelled due to inclement weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.

The organising committee reserves the right to cancel, combine, limit, or divide classes or change arenas. Lower grade/provincial entries may be restricted, or classes cancelled, depending on number of entries. Recommended rounds per day will be in consultation with the President of the Ground Jury and SASJ Rep.

Any classes that are combined will be on a handicap basis. Changes made at/during the show will be at the SHB’s discretion in consultation with the Ground Jury. This also applies to adverse weather conditions. Entry Fees will not be refunded to any competitor in the event of any competition being changed to a different time, day, or different arena.

The onus is on the rider to ensure their contact details are correct on the SASJ Database to receive any emails, and to check the SASJ Website for any changes to the schedule/programme. Any changes made to the programme once the final programme  is  published  will  be  published  on  the  SASJ  website

www.sashowjumping.co.za or sent out via newsflash.

All entries are to be done on  SASJ online. All riders and horses must be registered with a Club, SAEF. Payment receipts must be sent to: mikivdm@mweb.co.za. Any payments made after the closing date will be considered as a LATE ENTRY and a fee of R 200 will apply Only entries with proof of payment will be accepted. The organisers reserve the rights to combine classes if entries warrant. 

No Refunds will be given after closing date of entries. Entries withdrawn before close of date will be refunded for less admin fees R50.00. However, due to inclement weather conditions or other unforeseen circumstances, should it necessitate cancelling the show, 80% of the entry fee will be refunded. 

Bought and Sold Entries will be allowed provided the correct documentation is submitted within the correct time frames and the original rider has signed the form. Bought and Sold Entries will only be allowed provided the OC does not have a waiting list to fulfill first. Please contact the OC before selling entries. There will be no buying and selling of entries after the 22^nd of September 2026 Forms received thereafter will not be accepted.

REFUNDS: No Refunds will be given after closing date of entries only entries withdrawn before close of date will be refunded. If however due to inclement weather conditions or other unforeseen circumstances, should it necessitate cancelling the show, 80% of the entry fee will be refunded. 

It is the Athlete/Owners responsibility to ensure that they comply with the control measures of AHS and EQUINE FLU as per SAEF Regulations and are in the horses’ passports which must always accompany the horse/pony

The FEI, SASJ, SAEF, The OC/SHB, Venue, Officials and sponsors shall in no way be held responsible for any damage, loss, theft, or injury sustained by owners, riders, competitors, horses, members or the public or any other person or their property

whatsoever.

A minimum of 60% net of entry fees less levies and VAT for CSN classes

All CSN Jumping classes will be subject to a 15% deduction from prizemoney to be paid into the SASJ Riders Fund.

GENERAL CONDITIONS

This event is organized in accordance with:

9. All SAEF, FEI, SASJ, Europa Equestrian, and ground rules will apply. The organisers reserve the right to cancel, combine, or restrict classes should entries warrant it or according to prevailing circumstances.
10. SAEF, SASJ, Europa Equestrian, and their representatives shall not be held responsible for any loss, damage, theft, injury, or death sustained by horses, riders, appointed officials, the public, or their property. All persons participating in this event do so at their own risk and will have no claim against Europa Equestrian, MP Show Jumping, MP Eventing, or the SAEF, including any officials, employees, members, affiliated bodies, show-holding bodies, or sponsors for any damage, loss of property, or injury/death sustained during or in connection with the event. No minor may participate without the permission of a guardian, who indemnifies all parties listed above against any such claims.
11. ALL MOUNTED RIDERS MUST WEAR HARD HATS. As per FEI Article 256.1.4, it is compulsory for all persons to wear properly fastened protective headgear with a three-point retention harness at all times when mounted. Competitors must wear the correct dress for competition.
12. Any requests for a specific riding order MUST be emailed to the SHB. It is the competitor’s responsibility to confirm their entry has been received.
13. The organisers reserve the right to limit the number of entries accepted to a manageable number.
14. Any athlete not available to ride his/her test or class at the allotted time must contact the Show Organiser or Senior Judge to reschedule, or they will be eliminated.
15. Incomplete entries or entries without proof of payment will be excluded and discarded.
16. Entries will NOT be refunded if withdrawn after the closing date.
17. 70% of entry fees will be refunded only if the show organiser declares the show cancelled (not postponed).
18. Scratchings or cancellations made before the closing date will be refunded, minus a 20% administration fee.
19. While every effort will be made to adhere to the schedule, the organisers reserve the right to change the order of classes.
20. Please note that only APPROXIMATE starting times will be provided. It is the rider’s responsibility to be on time.
21. An immediate jump-off may be used at the judge’s discretion and will be announced.
22. The organisers reserve the right to fine, warn, suspend, and/or eliminate offenders. SAEF rules regarding excessive use of whips will be enforced.
23. The abuse of horses is strictly prohibited.
24. All stallions must wear a yellow disc on both sides of the bridle or a yellow ribbon in the tail. They must also have a yellow tag on their halter.
25. Stallions remain the responsibility of their owners and riders at all times and must have public liability cover.
26. Equine flu vaccinations must be administered within 6 months + 21 days before the event. No horse may compete within 7 days after receiving a vaccination. AHS vaccinations must be up to date.
27. All horses must have a valid SAEF passport available for inspection at any time.
28. Horses from outside the AHS Surveillance Area must have valid AHS vaccinations (within 12 months) and a current Certificate of Movement.
29. The athlete undertakes NOT to bring any horse or pony to the event that has an infectious disease, notifiable or otherwise.
30. Microchipping of equines has been compulsory since 2018.
31. If a horse is deemed unfit to compete and a veterinary examination is required, the cost is to be borne by the owner or athlete.
32. It is the owner/athlete’s responsibility to ensure their horse has enough grass, water, and feed during their stay.
33. Horses stabled at Europa Equestrian are kept at the owner’s own risk. Health and care remain the owner/athlete’s responsibility.
34. Grooms are welcome to stay on-site. Horsebox parking, toilets, showers, and wash-up facilities are available.
35. Owners/athletes are fully responsible for their grooms’ wellbeing.
36. Horsebox parking is at the owner's own risk.
37. Any owner or athlete who interferes with or attempts to influence judges, stewards, or officials, or who uses abusive or contemptuous language, may forfeit prizes and face disciplinary action.
38. All protests must be submitted in writing to the ground jury with a deposit of R400 for provincial classes, within the required time. Verbal protests will not be accepted. Download protest forms from the discipline websites.
39. As per Section 4.1.2.a, only competitors may school horses entered in Equitation classes anywhere on the venue during the event.
40. Bearing, side, and running reins are prohibited in all competitions, including in the practice arena. No modifications or extensions are allowed to rein or stirrups (Section 2.3.7).
41. Dogs are NOT welcome at shows. If brought, they MUST BE UNDER CONTROL AND ON LEADS AT ALL TIMES. A fine of R50 will be imposed on owners of loose dogs, with proceeds donated to a charity of Europa Equestrian’s choice.
42. Any rider or horse fall must be reported to the Show Office. A Rider/Horse Injury Report must be submitted before the rider is permitted to continue competing.

Neither Europa Equestrian, SAEF, FEI, nor their representatives will be held responsible for any loss, damage, theft, or injury sustained by horses, riders, appointed officials, the public, or their property.

All substitutions must be given to the show holder on the correct forms, signed by all the correct parties, a minimum of 30 minutes before the start of the relevant class.

National classes: A substitution may only take place ONCE, before the horse inspection. Should there be NO horse inspection, a substitution may only take place ONCE, by midday on the day before the National classes start, thereafter, NO substitutions will be permitted. All substitutions must be given to the Show Holder on the correct forms, signed by all the correct parties.
